From the Organizers:
Author and Activist Miko Peled, son of an Israeli general and grandson of a signer of the Israeli Declaration of Independence, has become an advocate of Palestinian rights and the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which advocates boycotting and divesting from companies that profit off Israeli colonization of Palestinian land and other attacks on Palestinians.
In his 2012 book, The General's Son: Journey of an Israeli in Palestine, Peled chronicles how his views transformed from the Zionism of his childhood to unabashed support for Palestinian rights after his niece Smadar was killed by a suicide bomber.
Peled spoke at United University Methodist Church in Syracuse, NY.
